thunderstorms line up with the front itself back toward the west, in through loudoun county, around the lowell area, and down toward the south and east. once again, montgomery county, west of gaithersburg, this will move over 270, and right over i-95. the heaviest storm to the west of warrenton. we'll watch this one move to the east. heads-up in warrenton in the next five to ten minutes. you could at least see some of the thunder and heavier downpours coming through your area west of prince william county. we'll continue to see these showers and storms move through through the rest of the evening hours. then we start to clear out. notice the showers back to the west. these are actually induced by cold air. so the cold air trying to filter on in here. we're going to see cooler weather move in over the next 12 hours or so. this evening, clouds and showers ending late. i think most of these will move out of here. temperatures 58 to about 68 degrees. tomorrow morning, waking up to cool numbers, but not too cold. 44 in the coolest suburbs, to about 50 in the city. winds out of the northwest at 10 t

and joining us now from lowell is nbc news capitol hill correspondent kelly o'donnell who was there last night, watched the whole thing unfold. kelly, what are your take aways from the debate? >> reporter: well, good morning, mika, if you are a debate lover like i am, this was really something to watch. in part because you heard that ground swell from the audience. there were about 4,500 people inside the arena here. there were thousands more outside who had been supporting their candidate and protesting the other. so there was a bit of that feel of the room that you don't often get with debates even though our friend david gregory said, please don't get the audience involved and take away time from the candidates. but moments like that gave a real feel for what was happening. it was tense. scott brown, of course, is the republican who was elected two years ago to fill out the term of ted kennedy. now he is a republican in massachusetts trying to run on a year when president obama's on the top of the ballot. so that is a challenge for him. now, for elizabeth warren, she's a ferris-tiirst
